One of the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in Toronto, Elliott has been practicing Jiu-Jitsu since 1995. An avid competitor, Elliott travels the globe between teaching and running OpenMat to participate in the biggest competitions in the world. As an instructor, he is articulate, attentive and FUN! Elliott sees Jiu-Jitsu as much more than a highly effective martial art – he sees it as a philosophy and a way of life and always bring more to class than just techniques.
After more than a decade of training with some of the best Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the world, Elliott found a true Master in Shawn Williams of Hollywood Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A 2nd Degree Black Belt under Renzo Gracie, Shawn is not only the best instructor Elliott has worked with, he's one of the best people. Intelligent, genuine, positive and generous, Shawn is a great role model for any of us.

With an athletic back ground and interests that range from hockey to aerial circus, Dom brings a drive toward mastery and an understanding of the joy of sport to the mats. With a focus on BJJ he has immersed himself in MMA and fringe sport training since moving to Toronto six years ago. Growing up on the troubled streets of Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Dom’s aquired sense of perseverance and respect for others carries over in how he approaches the learning and practicing of BJJ.
